SUMMARY:Golden Leaves Book Club
DESCRIPTION:(note\, this session was previously scheduled for January 26 and moved due to snow). Join our newest book club\, the Golden Leaves Book Club\, run by Shaunty McMillin\, owner of Golden Leaf Books here in Waterford. This is a book club focused on fantasy and romantasy reads. Light refreshments will be provided. No registration necessary. We will be discussing Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer on January 26 from 6-7. Copies are available for pickup at the Waterford Public Library.  \nASSISTANT WANTED: Notorious\, high-ranking villain seeks loyal\, levelheaded assistant for unspecified office duties\, supporting staff for random mayhem and terror\, and other Dark Things In General. Discretion a must. Excellent benefits. \nWith ailing family to support\, Evie Sage’s employment status isn’t just important\, it’s vital. So when a mishap with Rennedawn’s most infamous Villain results in a job offer―naturally\, she says yes. No job is perfect\, of course\, but even less so when you develop a teeny crush on your terrifying\, temperamental\, and undeniably hot boss. Don’t find evil so attractive\, Evie. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join our newest book club\, the Golden Leaves Book Club\, run by Shaunty McMillin\, owner of Golden Leaf Books here in Waterford. This is a book club focused on fantasy and romantasy reads. Light refreshments will be provided. No registration necessary. We will be discussing Red Rising by Pierce Brown on February 23 from 6-7. Copies are available for pickup at the Waterford Public Library during the month of February.  \nDarrow is a Red\, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds\, he works all day\, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations. Yet he toils willingly\, trusting that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children. But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and lush wilds spread across the planet. Darrow—and Reds like him—are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class. \n

SUMMARY:Waterford Readers Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Join the library for a monthly book club! We will primarily be reading mysteries and thrillers but other genres may be included from time to time. Our pick for February 24th is The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak. Copies are available at the check-out desk for pickup during the month of February. No registration is required. Please note that this book club takes place after the library is closed. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start of book club if you wish to check out items or peruse our collection. \nFrank Szatowski is shocked when his daughter\, Maggie\, calls him for the first time in three years. He was convinced that their estrangement would become permanent. He’s even more surprised when she invites him to her upcoming wedding in New Hampshire. It seems that Maggie failed to mention that she’s marrying Aidan Gardner\, the son of a famous tech billionaire. Feeling desperately out of place\, Frank focuses on reconnecting with Maggie and getting to know her new family. But it’s difficult: Aidan is withdrawn and evasive; Maggie doesn’t seem to have time for him; and he finds that the locals are disturbingly hostile to the Gardners.
