Effective Communication Strategies presented by the Alzheimer’s Association
March 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Free

This program is part of The Empowered Caregiver Series presented by the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dementia affects a person’s ability to communicate, making it hard to convey their wants and needs to the people around them.
Caregivers can learn to use a person-centered approach to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Topics covered include:
- How dementia affects communication
- Using a person-centered communication approach
- Tips for communicating with family, friends, and healthcare professionals
All are welcome and registration is preferred but not required for this informational program.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
