Join the Waterford Library and Hillary Hess an organic farmer, gardening educator and former Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County Master Gardener Supervisor for a class on vegetable gardening! The class will cover:
- Choosing a site
- Types of garden beds
- Seed starting / transplanting
- Soil basics
- How to choose your plants
- Layout and planning
- Protecting your garden from pests.
- Supporting your plants
- Maintaining your garden
All Students will learn practical tips and resources and will take home materials, plants and seeds. This is a free class, but registration is required to ensure we have enough space. Please call the library at (518) 237-0891 or stop by in person and add your name to the registration sheet.
